The MMKA presents Female Power, an exhibition showcasing female power and strength. From ceramic breasts and an installation with woven suits of armor to photographs of legendary Japanese fisherwomen, more and more contemporary artists are creating new depictions of women. Their work joins that of artists from the 1970s and 1980s whose positive images of women contributed to female empowerment. Themes in the exhibition are matriarchy, spirituality and utopia.
